I received a letter for my 2024 taxes and I am confused. Are they saying I owe over 8,000 to them? It is a notice CP3219A

Do not ignore it. Read it carefully and respond appropriately.

IRS Notice CP3219A is a “90-day letter” or Notice of Deficiency informing you of proposed additional taxes and giving you 90 days to respond or challenge the IRS in Tax Court.
What CP3219A Means
A CP3219A is a formal notice from the IRS indicating that they believe you owe additional income tax due to discrepancies between your tax return and information the IRS received from other sources, such as employers, banks, or financial institutions (IRS). It is not a bill or an audit notice, but a statutory notice of deficiency, meaning it is the IRS’s official determination of additional tax owed before assessment

Why You Might Receive It
You may receive a CP3219A if:
You did not respond to a prior IRS notice, such as a CP2000, regarding unreported income or incorrect deductions (IRS).

The IRS received information that does not match your reported income or deductions (IRS).

Previous correspondence with the IRS did not resolve the issue (IRS).

Essentially, it is the last notice before the IRS formally assesses the proposed tax, penalties, and interest.

Collection Actions: ignore it or wait too long and the IRS can begin enforcing collection actions such as wage garnishments, bank levies, federal tax liens, etc.
It is crucial to respond to the CP3219A notice promptly to avoid these serious consequences. If you believe the notice is incorrect or if you need more time to respond, you have the right to file a petition with the U.S. Tax Court.

Probably you should confer with a tax pro ASAP to determine if the IRS is correct.
