I'm receiving emails to finish filing my Michigan State Return (due April 15th) even though I filed in January and it shows as accepted on my return status. What gives?

I've been checking the status since I filed January 28th and receiving emails about one every two weeks. The listed status has never changed from accepted.

It's possible that you started a return in a different account.

Check “Your Current E-File Status” with TurboTax to be sure that the return was filed.
