Question

I'm getting an error on the 1099-SA entry area to "fix an error before continuing" when there isn't an error. Anyone know how to resolve this?

Edited OUT...Ouch...1099-SA, not an SSA-1099 like I thought

Perhaps. If you entered your 1099-SA, and did not indicate the amount was used for medical reasons then TurboTax would include the full amount as a taxable distribution.  Any amount of the distribution used for medical purposes would not be taxable.

While you are signed into your TurboTax return use the following steps.

  1. Search (upper right) > Type 1099sa > Enter > Click the Jump to .... link
  2. Review the entries for the Form 1099-SA
  3. See the image below for the key entry points

If you can clarify where and what the error is showing we may be able to provide further details.

So, got frustrated and logged off.  Back wasn't working or moving forward.  It hadn't even gotten to the number entry yet... just the entity of the HSA and address.

Popped back on an hour later or so, it opened to the same tab and was able to move forward without further changes.

Self resolved... like hitting the power button. 🙂

Hope this helps anyone else that may encounter this issue.
