I have pending '20 IRS dispute and amendment. Which prior year refund amount should I use when submitting electronically? Original, IRS suggested, or amended?

Is there a option other than prior year amount, or am I doomed to paper filing until the IRS catches up on their processing, if that ever happens?

You are not being asked for your refund amount.   You are being asked to enter the AGI from line 11 of your 2020 tax return.

Be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

Yes, AGI. Silly me, trying to remember from last year. But my AGI changes just as much as the refund so the answer is still valid. Thank you for the suggestions. I hate mailing anything to the IRS because it can be years before I ever find out if they received it.  Unfortunately, having someone sign for it doesn't mean it will be placed into the system. Thanks again
