TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I tried called the IRS and can't get through. All the local tax offices are closed. It's been 6 weeks since I've filed. The estimated date for refund was March 13. That is almost a month ago. How can I get some help because Turbo Tax has obviously washed their hands of this problem after taking my money to file the taxes. Next year, I'll do something different when I'm ready to file.

@jhirunr, Unfortunately, TurboTax has no authority to access your return with the IRS. We have no access to their systems, nor does any other tax preparation service. We provide the software to complete and file your return, but once it's approved, we receive no further updates for the tax return. The only suggestion I can make is to continue checking the status of your return on www.irs.gov/refunds. Continue to monitor the IRS website to see when they open their phone lines back up.
