Wait. The IRS says it takes 8-14 weeks to process, and it often takes a bit longer than that.

"Generally, if you file Form 8379 with a joint return on paper, the time needed to process it is about 14 weeks (11 weeks if filed electronically). If you file Form 8379 by itself after a joint return has been processed, the time needed is about 8 weeks"

Hello. I am in the same situation. However today I finally got answers. I called the national tax advocate. They are a separate entity of the irs. The number is 1-877-777-4778. They put me through to the IRS department handling the injured spouse claim. I did wait about 25 minutes on hold however I did get answers. Should be receiving my check in 4 weeks. I have already been waiting for 8 weeks. Hope this helps
