Here is the information on how to make a payment after filing. You won't be able to go back in and add it to your return if it's already been accepted, but its easier to make the payment online with the IRS directly -
https://www.irs.gov/payments (direct payment option)
If you prefer to mail a check, then you can use this voucher (it's the same one TurboTax prints up) - make sure you put your SSN and 2017 Form 1040 on the check.
Also, you may want to use these instructions below just to double check that you don't see any sort of direct debit from your account before you pay if you aren't sure.
You can use these steps to find the date in the Date of Withdrawal in the Balance Due/Refund section of the Electronic Filing Instructions page.
- Login to your TurboTax account and click Tax Home on left
- Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and click Show
- Then click Add a state. (You are not adding a state. This action allows you to open your return.)
- Then click File to the left
- On the Great job on your taxes! screen, click View or print your return
- This will open the return in a new window and scroll to state portion of return to find the Electronic Filing instructions page with TurboTax logo, it will tell you date in the Balance Due/Refund section at top of the page.
