You cannot add your BF's W-2 to your own tax return.  And...if your BF has over $4200 of income you cannot claim him.  He just files his own tax return and you file your own tax return--you are both Single--unless one of you has children--in which case the one who has children may be able to file as Head of Household.

I am head of household and his w-2 just came in. I tried amending. Went to his name. Touched edit then I answered all the questions. It never gave me a chance to put his w-2 in I’m guessing it’s because he didn’t make over 4,700 this year? Is there something I need to do?

You keep referring to "less than $4700."   The amount that you need to be concerned about is $4200.

You do not enter your BF's W-2 on your own tax return.  You cannot file a joint return with a boyfriend.  Only legally married couples file joint returns.

Already told you that if your BF had more than $4200 of income you cannot claim him as a dependent,  If his income was more than $4200 his name does not belong on your tax return for any reason.  He can file his own tax return and file as Single to seek a refund if he had any tax withheld.

Claiming your BF does not make you Head of Household.  Only a blood-related qualifying dependent would make you eligible to file as HOH.

You might also want to consider that with the upcoming stimulus checks----someone who is claimed as a dependent does not get one.
