Question

I already filed taxes and didn't qualify for the EIC credit for last year, I wasn't given an option to claim for 2019 instead, how can I claim this after I've filed?

I filed online and have since learned that I should have been able to claim EIC using 2019 income. Please help! xxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx

For you to use 2019 earned income for 2021 earned income credit, the 2019 income must be greater. If that would benefit you amend your return after the original return is fully processed and your tax liability has been settled. Amended returns take 6 months or more to process.

@Bsch4477  is correct. 2019 income must be higher and if eligible, I would recommend you e-file an amended return as soon as the original return is finished processing. E-filing will shorten the refund delay. Please:
