You can prepare a state return but you will have to also prepare your federal return. The TurboTax program uses the Federal information as the basis for filling out the state return, so the program needs this information in order to file your state return. You will have to fill out the Federal exactly as it was already filed and then you will be able to prepare the state return. However, you will have to tell the program that you are paper filing your federal return (since you already filed it), which means you will have to paper file your state return. Also, you will have to pay for both the federal and state program if you are not qualified to use the Free Edition.
Given all of the above, it may be easier (and cheaper) for you to look into a direct file program with your state. A lot of states offer the ability to file directly online at the state tax website. Depending on your state, if you already have a copy of your federal return, this could be a simpler process then redoing your federal return.
