You can check the status of your tax refund 24 hours after e-filing or 4 weeks after you mailed in your return. Updates are made daily and usually overnight.

You will need your social security number or ITIN, your exact refund amount and filing status to check the status.

Refunds can be issued in less than 21 days, but there are cases where it can take longer to process.
