Hi so my state tax debuted from my account, I thought this would happen after my return was debuted to me not before, when should I expect my return?

Your question is confusing.  You seem to be saying you paid your state tax due by a direct debit from your account.  What refund are you asking about?  Do you mean your federal refund/  Your federal tax return/refund and state tax owed are filed with completely separate entities--your federal refund has nothing to do with your state tax owed.

Ya sorry about the confusing question I’ll try and clarify. I haven’t received my federal tax return yet. However my state tax has already been debited from my bank account I thought this would happen after the return came in. Does this mean the federal should come in soon?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities,  There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals.

 

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
