Question

Hello! I just got my 1099-sa, but it is blank (there are no numbers in the box). Do I need to make an amend to my return if there is technically nothing there to input?

I received a 5498sa with it, but I never used anything from the HSA account. The form for the 1099sa is blank besides my name and the payer.

If you made contributions, but no withdrawals in 2017, you don't need to enter the 1099-SA (I'm surprised they sent one.)  If you did make withdrawals, you need to get a corrected form.
