Question

Have been using TT download for Mac for 15 years.Need to amend last 3 years of returns, how do I accomplish this using existing TT forms for each tax year?

One return at a time----open the TT program for the specific tax year on your hard drive Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Tax Forms>Amend a Return

Your past year amended returns will have to be mailed. They cannot be e-filed. Use a mailing service like certified mail so you will know they were received, since you will have a long wait.

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.
