Will the IRS check be forwarded or do these not get forwarded for some reason?

You can change your address with the IRS.

https://www.irs.gov/faqs/irs-procedures/address-changes/address-changes

Note that amended returns take 6-9 months or so to process.

Ahah! thank you for the link to the change of address form.

6-9 months...yeah I talked to a friend that does tax returns for part of her job and she indicated the refund from the amended return would be a Christmas present. Seems like that is about accurate at this point.

Hope they process change of address forms quicker than amended returns.

File a change of address with the post office, too. I believe they will forward the check if it gets sent to your old address.

I hope so... But that was my main concern - will USPS forward a tax refund.
