I'd like to double check the direct deposit information I used when filing. I'm concerned the numbers may have been incorrect, but can only know for sure if I am able to access my information.

I was to receive 5,466 dollars and was verified that the IRS did send that amount. I only received 5,341.20 through Turbo Tax which is 124.70 that is not accounted for? [email address removed]   Please resolve this issue or an explanation why this amount was taken!

Did you ask TurboTax to have the fees taken out of your refund? The $124.70 sounds like the charge for using TurboTax, the bank charge for processing your refund and sales tax.

You can call TurboTax and they can check your account. See What is the TurboTax phone number?

More information about your situation is needed:

  1. Are you referring to a Federal refund, state, or both?
  2. Most importantly, did you already efile?  If so, has the efile already been accepted?   Or did you just recently efile, and it's still pending?
You can log in and check the efile status at the Tax Home to see if the status is pending, accepted, or rejected.   If the efile is rejected, you can make whatever changes you need to and resubmit.
  3. If you submitted the return already, and if you didn't enter any direct deposit information, did you choose to receive your Federal refund by a paper check in postal mail?
  4. Or did you not select any refund method at all for your 2020 return?  In that case, did you use Online TurboTax Online last year for your 2019 return and got a direct deposit last year?   If so, if you're using the same account as last year, it might have used your direct deposit info from last year.

If you've already efiled, and if it's been accepted, we can tell you how to look at one of the worksheets in your return PDF called "Filing Instructions", which should tell you how your Federal refund is to be received.   You can also look at your Form 1040 in your return PDF to see if any direct deposit info is entered on Lines 35b-d.

How you chose to receive the tax return and any bank information you entered will be on the Filing Instructions page for the tax return.  Use Print Center.

To access your current year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2021 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

If you e-filed:

Banking information for direct deposit is wrong

If you entered incorrect banking information for your refund, you can change it if your return is rejected.  If it is accepted, however, it is too late to change it.  The bank will reject the refund and send it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS will issue a paper check and mail it to the address you put on your tax return.  Expect a delay of at least a couple of weeks to receive your refund.

Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com
