Amending Rtn Not prepared on TurboTax?

I’m new and hope to use TurboTax for my 2022 taxes. My wife passed away in 2021 and I used a CPA for taxes thru 2021. The CPA is now retired. My question is I have a pension and didn’t realize until mid 2022 it had a “pop up” clause increasing the monthly benefit after my wife’s death.  When I receive the 1099-R will it be clear that it’s all taxable in 2022 since I received the money in 2022 although some was for months in 2021?  If not, do I need to file an amended return and can TurboTax help with that even though I didn’t use your service in 2021 (even Live Assist). Thanks Jeff

No need to amend. Money received in 2022 is reported and taxed on your 2022 return. Don’t be surprised if you pay more in tax since you will be filing as single.

Sorry for your loss.

Big thanks for the rapid reply.  Yes I know I’ll owe more and I’m a little concerned because I have three fixed incomes with no withholdings.  I use quarterly estimates which may not be enough because of the filing status change and pension pop up. Oh well
