After I printed off my return to mail in, I realized I forgot a childcare deduction. I have not mailed it in yet, can I amend online or do I have to wait for 1040X?

When I logged back in, it said I needed to have to wait for two weeks to send the 1040X, even though I have not mailed the form and did not file electronically.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2020 online tax return where you can make your changes before filing the tax return.

If you did not already e-file or mail your return, then you don't need to amend, don't do anything with a 1040-X. Just re-open your return and make the changes, then print a new copy, sign it and mail it in.
