Do I need to create a new TurboTax account if I want to import from Mint?

If you don’t already have a TurboTax account, one will be created automatically using the same user ID and password you used for Mint, so your documents can be imported. Importing will be easy to do from your Mint account after you have chosen which tax documents you want.

If you already have a TurboTax account and a Mint account that includes the option to import—you’ll still be able to import as long as you registered the accounts using the same user ID and password.

If your Mint and TurboTax accounts have different user IDs/passwords, you won’t be able to import from Mint. But, you can still import the same documents into TurboTax directly from your financial institutions (and keep the benefit of any potential year-over-year transfer in your already existing TurboTax account).
