Do I need to file federal return if only income was taxable grant but less than minimum filing requirement?

My only income in 2018 was taxable educational grant money (both PELL and state,) none of which was spent on qualifying educational expenses. However, the total amount was under the $18,000 Head of Household minimum filing requirement. Do I still need to file a return? Thanks in advance!

You don't need to file a tax return if the taxable grant  is your only income and the amount is below the filing requirements level.
