KY tax

I lived in TN and worked/schooled in TN but I maintained my KY license with my moms address.

Moved to KY sept 2014, no work in Ky till 2015. I got a letter from KY staying I owe them taxes for my TN job. What do I need to do to fix this? Can they charge me for the year when I had another residence?

KY tax

Each state has their own requirements for determining residency, as well as for terminating residency. More than likely if you have income from TN in 2014, then you should have filed a KY part-year resident return, and a TN part year resident return. If you filed a full on resident return with KY in 2014, then for all intents and purposes they have no reason to not expect a return from you the next year.
