When I used an accountant, he told me it was fine rounding up and down values to a dollar amount with no cents in it, e.g., $.50 becomes $1, and $.49 becomes $0. I'm continuing to do that in TurboTax, except in places like 1099-Rs, etc., where the instructions are to enter the amounts exactly, and in those cases, I'm entering the pennies. Curious if anyone knows if doing so (exact amounts where forms are involved, and rounding elsewhere) is OK with the IRS. thanks
