How to connect online account and purchased disk copy?

I started doing my taxes using the free online version. Midway trough I realized I needed to purchase the Premier version. I later purchased a copy at a local store and have installed it onto my computer, but I can't find how to import the work I did online to my desktop version. I was nearly finished, is there a way to transfer the data over without having to restart from the beginning?

How to connect online account and purchased disk copy?

Yes. Go back to into your online account and save the tax file to your computer.

  • Sign into your account and select the 'take me to my return' button
  • Select Tax Tools, Tools
  • Select 'Save your 2017 return to your computer'

Note the saved location on your computer, then open your desktop version and open the saved file.
