Turbo tax error

I moved so had to file taxes in two states. One state asked for few more details so while reviewing the numbers, I realized that my two state income did not add to the federal income. Turbo tax should have immediately pointed this out while I was completing my taxes. I need to talk to someone to help me understand how this could have happened. These are basic checks and balances. Has this happened to anyone? I want my money back!

The program doesn't work that way, and never has. You must complete the federal return first, in it's entirety before you even start a state return. Data is transferred from the federal return, to the state return(s), not the other way around. Since all income from all sources is reported on the federal return (but not necessarily all state returns.) the program does not, can not, and will not transfer backwards from state to federal return.
